It’s May and the infamous Delhi summer season has set upon us, and how! The heat keeps getting worse by the day and now we are only wishing for more ways to beat it. That said, we Delhiites are a tough lot to keep a low profile, be it heat or cold. Always looking for new adventures around the city, we keep you up-to-the-beat about what’s new and hot in town! So read on as we bring to you a well curated list of the places you need to head to this hot month!

PAPARAZZI AND CO.

Think paparazzi and the thought of scandals only follows. And who doesn’t love them both? Welcome the new scandalous spot in town, Paparazzi And Co. in Greater Kailash 2. This new ‘glam lounge’ is a collaboration between the erstwhile Smokey’s Grill and the trendy Pass Code Hospitality, which is responsible for giving us unique concepts such as PCO and ATM. This is the latest offering by the group that gave us Ping’s, an oriental cuisine haven, just a few months ago. Paparazzi rolled out its red carpet for Delhiites not so long ago and is already the buzz in the town. This Hollywood themed offering is complete with high chairs, chandeliers, cocky quotes and risqué art that screams glamour and scandal in less than subtle ways. Like PCO, Paparazzi has an extensive drinks menu and delights to nibble at from global cuisines. Our trusted birdies tell us that some of the cocktails here are to die for. Take for instance, Mudslide, a heady mix of Cointreau, tequila and Bailey’s Irish Cream; now doesn’t that sound delicious? Another one of our picks is Woody’s Sinnerman, which is a flavoursome concoction of cinnamon-infused dark rum with apple juice, sugar syrup and lime juice. Smacking your lips just thinking about it? Check out the gigs calendar and head over to Paparazzi and Co. to get a taste of the red carpet glam.

PALATE OF DELHI

Delhi’s love affair with food is a never ending one, with new names adorning its forever-feathery hat every now and then. A new name to add to the charm is the food court at Dhaula Kuan Metro Station, Palate of Delhi. While Epicuria broke the norm of food courts being restricted to the upper levels of malls in Delhi, Palate of Delhi is not just another metro station eatery. From Keventer’s to Khan Chacha and Berco’s to Burger King, POD has something for everyone. Running through NH8, Dhaula Kuan is witness to commuters throughout the day, yet it has a dearth of options when it comes to eating out. POD manages to fill just the gap with sit-in restaurants and drive-through choices in one place. Touted to be the next big hangout in South Delhi, Mr. Jaideep Bhandari, promoter of POD commented on the launch, “ We are excited to bring a deliciously unique food destination in the market with some of the most loved brands. We aim to provide a relaxed and comfortable quick dining setting to our discerning customer. Delhi is now a ‘foodie’ city and we will strive to satiate it with Palate of Delhi.”

ELECTRIC ROOM, THE LODHI

Electric Room is literally the new kid on the block. Latest addition at The Lodhi Hotel, it is a lounge that means to take you back in the time ‘when music was the soul of the evening’. The lounge offers the perfect ambience for you to sip on your drinks and simply enjoy the music. With a keen love for popular and underground artists alike, Electric Room hosts live performances every day. But we haven’t shared the USP yet; Electric Room is open 24 hours, every day! That’s right, it has the license to serve liquor till the wee hours of the morning. Though the place is functional all day long, the performances will take place between 9pm and 5am. The place also played host to The Underground Gin Festival, serving choicest concoction of the lesser popular spirit. Step into Electric Room for ‘live music, classic cocktails and good vibes.’

ENSEMBLE, KHAN MARKET

Ensemble, the multi-designer store needs no introduction. Though what’s new about it is the brand’s fresh new store that just opened its doors in the city favourite of Khan Market. This is the third store after the ones in Santushti and DLF Emporio, and is going to be the new shopping spot for a while to come. The store is just as much a creative haven as the others with creations by designers such as Rohit Bal, Sabyasachi, Malini Ramani and Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna. Making Indian designing sensibilities accessible to all since 1989, Ensemble Design Studio in Khan Market has a beautiful Parisian vibe with grey concrete interiors and bamboo logs for hangers. Your one-stop fashion is just a few more steps closer now.

TRUEFITT & HILL

Yes, the royal barbershop has finally set foot in Delhi and in one of the most upcoming and prime locations of Delhi. The brand is synonymous with royalty and luxury and is arguably the oldest barbershop franchise in the world. In business since 1805, Truefitt & Hills has groomed the Monarchs of Great Britain through nine consecutive reigns. Their products have been handcrafted in Britain since the time of inception and are now available for common man’s mane too.
