Croatia, the land where the necktie was invented, has become a booming travel destination for all kinds of travelers in the past few years. A geographically diverse terrain, sapphire waters running along its coastline, breathtaking waterfalls that can make Niagara falls blush with their beauty, a Mediterranean climate and the best seafood, there is little that this country does not offer. If these reasons aren’t enough to push you to visit this East European beauty, then the upcoming Yacht Week (3rd June-16th September) surely will! Read on, to see what are the hottest travel destinations in Croatia and what you can expect out of The Yacht Week 2017.

The Yacht Week

The Croatia routes of the Yacht Week are undoubtedly the most popular. Floating raft parties (read crazy fun parties over the water), splendid caves, regatta race, yoga at the beach and visting age-old ruins, The Yacht Week has it all covered. Visitors claim that these routes gives you the once-in-a-lifetime party experience as they range from parties on the well-known Hvar island to ancient castles. One unique aspect is the organizers making sure that there is an “equal gender balance on all weeks because variety is the spice of life.” There are two routes for Croatia, the Original Route and the Ultra Festival Route. Even though they release the exact itinerary of the sailing routes two weeks prior to the first departure, the rough itinerary is as follows:

Split – Milna – Stari Grad – Hvar – Komiza – Vis town – Trogir – Green Caves -Blue Caves – Blue Lagoon – Split

The itinerary of the two routes includes the same places, nevertheless they are quite different from each other in terms of the activities. The Ultra Festival Route features the biggest electronic music festival in Croatia and is expected to have around 1.5 lakh people on the shores of Split to enjoy it. The organizers use the motto “sail by day, dance by night” for the festival. The Original Route is also known for its parties and drinking but the music scene is very different from its sister route. The days are packed with island hopping and cave exploring, while the nights are spent partying. The organizers have earned a great reputation for themselves by hiring the best venues on the islands where the parties happen and top-notch arrangements for the same. While the average age of those attending The Yacht Week is around 27 years, it is not difficult to spot a young bee of 20 or an older one on the yachts.

We came across some very interesting tweets on the official twitter account of The Yacht Week:

The Yacht Week booking includes the Yacht for 7 days but since most tourists are not good sailors themselves, it is highly recommended that a skipper be hired for the duration of the trip. A Hostess is also high on the recommendation list, since most people don’t want to cook everyday by themselves on the Yacht.

The prices range from €330-2400 (23,503 INR to 1,70,966 INR ) per person depending on the type of yacht hired. The details can be found on https://www.theyachtweek.com where they highlight that the payment can be done in three installments.
