1. Your rise from “Dubai Bling” to becoming a global name has been extraordinary. Can you walk us through the defining moments of this journey? Were there times when you doubted yourself or felt overwhelmed, and how did you overcome them?
Reflecting on my journey, several defining moments stand out. Being born in India, raised in South Africa, and eventually making Dubai my home since 2008, each transition brought its own set of challenges and growth. “Dubai Bling” was a significant milestone, offering a platform that amplified my voice and allowed me to connect with a global audience. There were indeed moments of doubt and overwhelm, especially when balancing personal life and the public eye. However, my passion for fashion and storytelling kept me grounded. Embracing my roots and the diverse cultures I’ve experienced gave me strength. I reminded myself that every challenge is an opportunity to learn and evolve.
2.Your fashion sense is celebrated worldwide, but fashion is often deeply personal. How does your style reflect your personality, and are there any memories or inspirations behind some of your most iconic looks?
Fashion, to me, is a form of self-expression. Growing up, I was always passionate about fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. If there was any modeling contest or fashion show in school, I would be the first to enroll or sign up.My style is a blend of the rich cultures I’ve been part of. From the vibrant colors of India to the eclectic vibes of South Africa and the modern elegance of Dubai, each element finds its way into my wardrobe. One of my most cherished looks was at the amfAR Gala 2022 in Venice, where I wore a gown that encapsulated both tradition and contemporary design. It was a tribute to my journey and the fusion of cultures that define me.
3. Life in the limelight can sometimes feel like a double-edged sword. How do you navigate the pressures of constant scrutiny while staying true to who you are? Are there any misconceptions about you that you’d like to address?
Being in the public eye does come with its set of challenges. I’ve learned the importance of staying authentic and surrounding myself with a supportive circle. It’s essential to remember why I started this journey and to remain true to my passions and values. A common misconception is that my life is solely defined by glamour. While I cherish the beautiful moments, there’s a lot of hard work, dedication, and resilience behind the scenes. I’m deeply committed to my roles as a mother, entrepreneur, and influencer, and each role requires balance and effort.
4. Motherhood is a profound journey, and you’ve embraced it with grace. What has your son taught you about life, and how has being a mother influenced your approach to your career and personal goals?
Motherhood has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. My son has taught me patience, unconditional love, and the importance of being present. He reminds me to find joy in the little things and to approach life with curiosity and wonder. Being a mother has added depth to my career. It has made me more empathetic and has reinforced the importance of setting a positive example. I strive to show him the value of hard work, integrity, and following one’s passion.
“I would tell every woman out there to believe in herself, even when no one else does. Confidence is everything, and when you trust your own journey, you will find the strength to overcome any obstacle. One of the values that have guided me through life is resilience—knowing that setbacks are not failures, but lessons.”
5. Reality TV often amplifies both triumphs and vulnerabilities. Were there any moments on ‘Dubai Bling’ that you found particularly challenging to share? Looking back, how has the experience helped you grow, both personally and professionally ?
“Dubai Bling” was an incredible platform, but it also meant opening up parts of my life that I usually keep private. Sharing personal challenges and moments of vulnerability was daunting. However, it allowed me to connect with viewers on a deeper level and showcase the multifaceted nature of life. The experience taught me resilience and the importance of authenticity. It reinforced that it’s okay to show vulnerability and that sharing our stories can inspire and resonate with others.

6. Your journey from South Africa to Dubai reflects a fascinating blend of cultures and experiences. How have these shaped your identity, and do you feel they give you a unique perspective in the world of fashion and business ?
Absolutely. Being born in India, raised in South Africa, and now residing in Dubai has provided me with a rich tapestry of cultural experiences. Each culture has imparted unique lessons and perspectives. In fashion, this blend allows me to create looks that are both diverse and inclusive. In business, it offers a broader understanding of different markets and audiences. This multicultural background is a cornerstone of my identity and work.
7. Social media can be a powerful platform but also a demanding space. How do you strike a balance between authenticity and curation? Do you ever feel the need to disconnect to protect your mental health?
Social media is a significant part of my career, but it’s crucial to maintain a balance. I prioritize authenticity, sharing moments that genuinely resonate with me while ensuring that my content remains engaging and relevant. There are times when I feel the need to step back and disconnect. During these moments, I focus on self-care, spending quality time with loved ones, and engaging in activities that rejuvenate my spirit. It’s essential to recharge to continue creating meaningful content.
8. Behind every success story lies a series of lessons learned the hard way. Can you share any pivotal moments where failure or setbacks taught you invaluable lessons that shaped the person you are today?
One significant lesson I’ve learned is the importance of perseverance. Early in my career, there were projects that didn’t materialize as planned, leading to moments of doubt. However, these setbacks taught me resilience and the value of adaptability. Each challenge reinforced the importance of staying true to my vision and the need to remain flexible in the face of adversity.

9. As someone who inspires millions, what message would you give to women aspiring to carve their own path in the world? Are there any guiding principles or values that have been your North Star through it all ?
I would tell every woman out there to believe in herself, even when no one else does. Confidence is everything, and when you trust your own journey, you will find the strength to overcome any obstacle. One of the values that have guided me through life is resilience—knowing that setbacks are not failures, but lessons. Also, never be afraid to stand out, embrace your uniqueness, and work hard toward your dreams. Success is a mix of passion, persistence, and patience.
10. Your life appears to be a seamless mix of glamour, grit, and grace, but we all have unfiltered, quiet moments. Who is Farhana Bodi when the cameras are off, and what brings you genuine joy in those private spaces?
When the cameras are off, I am just a mother, a dreamer, and someone who loves simple joys. I cherish time with my son more than anything—our laughter, our little adventures, and even the quiet moments of just being present with him. I also find peace in moments of reflection, whether it’s reading, meditating, or simply enjoying a beautiful sunset. Fashion and social media are my passions, but my heart truly belongs to my family, my inner peace, and the people who support me unconditionally.
11. Dubai is often celebrated for its cosmopolitan spirit and opportunities for reinvention. How has the city contributed to your journey, and what does it mean to you on a personal level?
Dubai is home. It is a city that embraces ambition and reinvention, and that’s what makes it so special. Coming here in 2008, I saw a place where dreams could truly come to life. Dubai gave me the platform to grow as a businesswoman, influencer, and mother. It’s a city that celebrates diversity and culture, and I feel honored to be part of its ever-evolving story. The opportunities, the energy, and the people here have shaped so much of who I am today.
12. As a figure with such a prominent platform, do you feel a sense of responsibility to use your influence for causes close to your heart? Are there any initiatives or movements you are passionate about that your fans may not know of?
Absolutely. Having a platform comes with a responsibility to inspire and give back. I strongly believe in empowering women, supporting single mothers, and promoting self-confidence. I also care deeply about education for young girls and ensuring they have the resources to chase their dreams. Beauty and fashion are my professional passions, but making a difference in people’s lives is what truly matters. I try to use my voice to spread positivity, break stereotypes, and encourage self-love in every way I can.
13. Looking back at your journey so far, is there a piece of advice you’d give to your younger self? Conversely, what would your future self thank you for right now?
I would tell my younger self to stop doubting herself so much. Everything will fall into place at the right time, as long as you keep pushing forward. Also, I’d remind her that not everyone will understand your journey, and that’s okay—keep going anyway. My future self would probably thank me for taking risks, following my dreams, and never settling for less than I deserve. She would be grateful for all the late nights, the sacrifices, and the moments of perseverance that brought me to where I am.
14. Your meteoric rise is awe-inspiring, but what are the sacrifices behind the success? Are there parts of your personal or professional life that you feel people don’t often see or fully understand?
Success comes with its share of sacrifices. People see the glamorous side—the fashion, the events, the social media presence—but they don’t see the sleepless nights, the moments of self-doubt, or the personal struggles. Balancing motherhood, business, and a public persona is not easy. There are times I have to miss out on special family moments because of my commitments. But I remind myself why I started, and that keeps me going. Every success has a price, but when you love what you do, it all becomes worth it.
15. Finally, looking to the future, what dreams or goals remain on your vision board? Are there any new paths you’re excited to explore, whether in fashion, business, or even your personal life?
There is still so much I want to achieve! I would love to expand my presence in the fashion industry and work on my own brand—something that reflects my style and vision. I also want to continue inspiring women around the world, possibly through mentorship programs or initiatives that support female entrepreneurs. Personally, I just want to keep evolving, learning, and experiencing new things. And of course, my biggest goal is to continue being the best mother I can be to my son—because, at the end of the day, he is my greatest achievement.
