We’ve broken free from the shackles of being locked indoors for months as lockdown 172673 comes to an end. The creatures of the dark are finally ready to step out and embrace daylight despite the choking humidity, occasionally accompanied by some pleasantly breezy moments.
Being cooped up inside the house can really change a person in ways they could never even imagine. I can assure you that every friend circle has lately seen the emergence of an undiscovered genius or an underlying expert. The friend who’d never set foot in the kitchen is now a home-made master chef and their new foodie insta feed has you leaving a snail trail of drool that you’ll later have to clean yourself since household help is pretty much still unavailable.
We at Delhiites have listed 5 different kinds of personalities that have emerged over the three month lockdown period, that everyone can relate to. Read ahead to find out which one you are!
- The Netflix Aficionado
This person has watched every single show and movie that has been released on Netflix or on any other virtual streaming platform. They are the masters of running marathons, movie marathons of course, and can finish multiple seasons of the show they’re hooked on overnight. They are the go-to person you call when you need a good show recommendation and are up to date with what’s going on in every show including when the next season releases. Fun fact – They are also experts in snack pairing.
- The Quaran-Tina
This person is the drama queen of quarantine. They are the human version of an alarm that goes off every time someone mentions stepping out into the great beyond, i.e – three steps outside their front door. They are obsessed with sanitizing everything and everyone. It’s hard to imagine someone voluntarily wanting to stay indoors despite the relaxations. They treat the world outside the same way vampires treat daylight *backing away dramatically while hissing* and have no concept of date and time as their days and nights have started to blend. Their paranoia about actually contracting the virus is more fatal than the virus itself.
3.The Productive Pill
They are by far the most confusing personality that has emerged during the lockdown. You either absolutely love them and want to be like them or want to strangle them and shut them in a box. Their productivity levels are soaring while other people are still trying to convince themselves that going to bed while the sun is rising is not normal! These people have actually made the most of the time they had in their hands. They’ve picked up a new hobby or acquired a new skill. They show a high level of motivation and are somehow always on the move. They exuberate positive energy which makes their productive nature and gets go attitude extremely contagious. They utilized the free time and made the most out of it to try out things they might have not had time for before.
4.The Awakened Artist
Those who found enlightenment in the art of expressing themselves through art come under this category. Their thoughts and emotions lay are on display, sprawled across numerous canvases. They speak the language of colour and communicate through creativity. They have awakened the artist within and spend their days creating one masterpiece after another. Of course, art isn’t limited just to painting. Artistic expression comes out in many forms. Music, writing, and even cooking are a few of the many ways to express and create. Most people have been able to embrace or even discover their artistic side during the lockdown period and can hopefully stay in touch with it once life slowly and steadily gets back to normal.
- The Bored Businessman/ Business Woman
Any person who can monetize off of their boredom is an absolute genius. Numerous entrepreneurs have emerged during this lockdown who have been able to establish successful businesses from their homes. While most people turned hobbies into actual businesses, for example, people who enjoyed baking when bored started in house delivery only bakeries, have been flooded with orders. This category of people has displayed an amazing ability to be able to adapt to the situations are them and make the most of them.
While these are 5 broad categories we recognized, it is not necessary for a person to fit into only one category at a time. What makes this interesting is that an individual can display behaviours associated with different categories at the same time. A Quaran-Tina can also be a Productive Pill and a Netflix Aficionado. Mix and match the categories to find out what blend of lockdown personality is yours.
