There are inspirations, there are idols and then there are icons, the kind that you can only aspire to be like someday. There are six jewelers who according to me are iconic and irreplaceable, whose work has left an indelible mark on me and today I want to share my choices and reasons for them being a cut above the rest.
Mahesh Notandas
They asked my mother and I to shoot a campaign for them and that is the first time I thought of being a jewelry designer, before that I did not have any particular interest in jewelry but while we shot with them the pieces that they displayed, the intricate and detailed designs, the quality of the jewels and how unique their collection was left me fascinated. It made me consider a career in design and it has been 9 years since then but their jewelry still holds a special place for me.
Bharany’s
Bharany’s is a heritage jewelry brand that opened in 1906 has run for over four generations. They are known for being inspired by luxury and rare jewels from all over the world and repurposing new versions of old Mughal jewelry to create their works of art. The designs are one of a kind and set with the best quality of rare gems which makes them perfect to invest in and pass on to the next generation. Their jewelry is perfect to turn into an heirloom.
Bvlgari
Bvlgari is internationally known for its iconic jewelry and their intricate, detailed watches. The brand has been the epitome of luxury since 1884 which is when it was launched. The serpent which was their own unique design became so famous globally that it spawned hundreds of imitations from other brands and to this day remains a must-have a piece of jewelry to collect. The watches are so durable and classic that they make for the perfect accessory to complete any outfit. I specifically admire the detailing and have been collecting pieces of Bvlgarijewellry for years.
William Goldberg Diamonds
William Goldberg loved the joy that beautiful diamonds brought to people. Sewn into all his bespoke suits was a small, hidden pocket to stash secret gemstones, which he revealed at unexpected moments to bring sudden delight to gatherings. He believed that the perfect diamond can make a person perfectly happy. The jewelry created by the brand is breathtaking more because of the rare, stunning and quality gems used. The emphasis on the stones means their pieces are truly iconic and known to make a statement. I am a fan of the brand.
Cartier
This is yet another iconic jewelry brand that you cannot miss. Their love bangles, watches, and rings are delightfully simple and elegant. Their first ambassador was Princess Mathilde, cousin to Napoleon III, who was overcome by her love for the masterpieces created by Louis-Francois Cartier and marketed them passionately. The history, the precision in the designs, and the understated elegance make it a formidable jewelry house, and their pieces extremely sought after.

The UK based brand known for its high-end watches and jewelry is truly iconic. Their use of colored diamonds,
their one of a kind designs, and the cult-like following makes it impossible to ignore. They create some of the most extravagant and gorgeous watches in the world.
