Runners up of the Indian Masters Polo 2017

Delhiites Polo started the fall polo season in Delhi on a promising note by lifting the 4 goal Out of Hat Cup in early October. The polo team, headed by the legendary polo player Samir Suhag started the prestigious Bhopal-Pataudi Cup with a bang by thrashing their opponents in the league matches by big margins and qualifying for the semi finals where they clashed with Rajnigandha Achievers and crashed out of the tournament in what turned out to be a close contest. The Field Marshall Cariappa Cup followed next by Delhiites making it to the finals but losing the cup by a whisker in the dying minutes of the match and this started their row of ‘Runners Up’.

This was followed by the prestigious Yes Bank Indian Masters Polo 2017, where Delhiites Polo was paired in a pool with the defending champions Jindal Panther. In what turned out to be a series of upsets, Delhiites polo managed to edge past Jindals to make their way to the finals of one of the most sought after tournaments in the country. The finals saw Delhiites take on arch-rivals Rajnigandha Achievers and lost 7-6 in what turned out to be a nail biting finish.

Looking forward to end their streak of runners up, Delhiites entered the Amity Polo Cup 2017 with a rock solid looking team where they roped in Dhruvpal Godara, a member of the Indian Polo Team and a veteran polo player.

The next league match was against Sahara Warriors which turned out to be a high voltage game with Delhiites stealing victory in the dying minutes of the game to set up a Sunday clash against Jindal Panther.

Delhiites Polo made their intentions clear by scoring the opening goal within the first minute of the game, however lost to Jindal panther who put up an exceptional show with the score board reading 5-3.5 in favour of Jindals. With this Delhiites also completed a hat trick of Runners up in the recently concluded season.
