Lair has been described as a modern speakeasy, but the arresting contemporary design makes the bar feel more like a reimagined film noir movie set than the typical Prohibition-era vernacular. Design studio Renesa leaned into the moody, mysterious aspect of clandestine bars with a minimalist and monochrome scheme marked by black concrete, glass, slivers of light and eye-catching geometries. The cocktail programme – available from the first floor, the second level is a dining room featuring pan-Asian cuisine – caters to a wide variety of tastes, from simple and approachable drinks on the level one section of the menu to high-end options on the level three side made with ingredients from around the globe. Eccentric drink presentations match the drama of the atmosphere; the two colliding to create a unique and memorable experience.

This light and spacious wood-panelled space features a stage for live music, and an extensive drinks selection. The bar’s interpretation of its namesake cocktail takes pride of place on the menu, combining cognac, bourbon, roasted corn and lime acid.
