Gavin Kochar chose to enter the world of art using the pseudonym Gavalav. Having studied to become a cosmetic scientist, he became a self-taught artist and based his art on the philosophy of creation through experimentation.
He chooses each brush stroke, every colour with the utmost care and intention in order to express himself and convey his message.

His artworks portrays the ideology of self-reflection or mirrors. The pop of colours in the work attract the viewer & force them to dwell beyond the boundaries of sight. Almost like an intuitive mirror, it makes them realize their current subconscious state.
His Latest Art Exhibition was called “More Than a Feeling”
The artist happens to believe that the emotional, spiritual & etheric energies of humans are not confined to the conventional shape of the human body. As a result his works depict abstract figures or un-objective portraits. The artworks dwell on the ideology of self-reflection. The portraits present in these works are all in the form of textural line-art & the abstract brush-strokes within the body represent emotions like turmoil and befuddlement. The idea being to make the viewer take notice of the vulnerability of mankind and reflect on the human condition as a whole.
With art work as exquisite as this and a uniquely bold voice, he is already creating buzz in the art world, and we definitely believe he is an artist to watch.
