The one thing constant in everyone’s life, irrespective of the shocks that nature gives us, is the need for entertainment. When talking about entertainment, going out with friends to a cinema hall is a classic experience that we have all been missing, however, with the advent of Unlock 5.0 cinema halls were officially allowed to open to 50% seating capacity and have now re-opened to the public.

This year has been a challenge for everyone and being at home for over six months has made people restless but at the same time, there is fear and apprehension when it comes to going to a cinema hall which was once a hotspot for couples, friends and family outings.

Team Delhiites wants to help reassure all of you that going out is possible, as long as you take all the precautions and follow this guide for a safe and refreshing cinema going experience. The following is a compilation of all the information you will need in order to plan a movie date with friends, family or simply a fellow cinephile.

  • Social Distancing shall be maintained by leaving every alternate seat empty. Regardless of whether you have arrived in a group or are accompanied by another person. There will be gaps between seats even if people arrive in theatres in groups.
  • Wait for your turn – The intermission has now been made longer so that people don’t miss out on the film since, people who choose to leave the auditorium, will be asked to re-enter the hall in a systematic way to ensure social distancing norms.
  • The food that is purchased from the concession stand within the multiplexes has to be eaten in the lobby itself, eating food inside the auditorium during the film is strictly prohibited.
