Nissan showcases its Global Premium SUVs in India
In an effort to anticipate and deliver on future demand, Nissan India in October showcased it’s premium global SUVs the X-Trail, Qashqai, and Juke in India. With Nissan Magnite breaking all records and three new, path-breaking cars on the horizon, it is evident that the aim is to disrupt the market and capture the youth clientele. Car influencer Ms. Rajni Chaudhary has gone ahead and dubbed the new Xtrail as “a car from the future”.
X-Trail
| The X-Trail which is being tested for feasibility on Indian roads is expected to the brand in the Indian market as Nissan sees the shift of the market towards E Power and hybrid vehicles in the region. The Nissan X-Trail will have a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor in the 2WD format that produces 161bhp and 300Nm of torque, with a 0-100kmph run in 9.6 seconds and a top speed of 200kmph. The e-Power mill combines an electric motor and a three-cylinder petrol engine, producing a total output of 210bhp and 525Nm of torque. A 4WD system is standard. This variant can sprint from 0-100kmph in seven seconds (7.2seconds for the seven-seat version), all the way up to a top speed of 180kmph. |
Juke
| Nissan has also unveiled the first look of its Juke SUV (B-segment) in India as well. It comes with a strong-hybrid powertrain and sports curvy exterior elements giving it a quirky look perfect for the modern man with a sense of adventure. |
Qashqai
| The Qashqai is a compact crossover SUV which has been popular car across the globe for the brand Propelling the Nissan Qashqai is an e-Power unit that is essentially a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine paired with an electric motor. The former produces 156bhp and 250Nm of torque, while the electric motor generates 188bhp and 330Nm. Paired with an Xtronic automatic transmission, the model can attain speeds of 100kmph from a standstill in 7.9 seconds, while the top speed is rated at 170kmph. |
