Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG’ Year of the Rabbit’

2023 is the year of the rabbit as per the lunar calendar, and Nike is honouring the year with its Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Year of the Rabbit.” Limited to just 5000 pairs, the sneaker has a fuzzy suede and leather panelled upper with bunny-inspired furry and frayed laces. In neutral shades of brown, white, sail and grey, it is easily one of the best and most wearable sneakers we’ve seen in a minute.

Salomon x Sandy Liang XT-6

Designer Sandy Liang and sneaker brand Salomon have come together to kit out a bubblegum-hued XT-6. A signature Salomon style, Liang gave it her spin by reimagining it in pink. Inspired by Pokémon characters Jiggly Puff and Whimiscott, it combines pink with green accents for a nostalgic but contemporary version of the classic. Grabbing the attention of millennials and Gen-Z alike, the pink shoe is the perfect sneaker for girls who are not self-proclaimed sneakerheads but want in on the hype.

Awake NY X Asics Gel NYC Sneakers

Asics is on a hot streak of reissuing its archival styles, the Asics Gel NYC included. A new take on their archival GEL design, they made it bigger and better by collaborating with New York-based label Awake NYC. The standout shoe from the drop comes in a saturated teal and pink colourway. Featuring the Awake logo on the heel, the spirited colour duo makes it the best one to hit the shelves so far. We’re lacing up in these dad sneakers and wearing them with our slinky slip dress.

Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66

Another blast from the past is the Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66. Y’know, the kicks Uma Thurman wore in Kill Bill? Approved by the stylish set, we’re clocking multiple sightings of this on ‘IT’ girls like Bella Hadid and Kaia Gerber recently. While Hadid has a yellow and black pair, Gerber was spotted wearing the yellow version. The earliest iteration of this shoe was the Onitsuka Cortez in 1969 which was later revamped in 2002 as everybody knows it today. Not much has changed since — the low-top sneaker with arched stripes along the side and no visible logo remains the same — some things don’t need a redo to stay relevant. It is still the shoe that looks great with everything you throw at it.

Aimé Dore Leon x New Balance 860V2

New Balance has been churning out one collab after another, and the 550s have been revisited several times and then some. Take, for instance, the upcoming Rich Paul x New Balance 550 collab that promises a buttery suede in soft lavender. But while the 550s have become the currency of cool today, the collab we’re eyeing is the one with Aimé Leon Dore. The Teddy Santics-led brand is bringing the underrated New Balance silhouette of 860V2 to the fore. The quiet shoe has been given a vibrant update with energetic colours. We are skewing towards the red and gold, but there is nothing boring about the green and gold colourway.
