There are a lot of different ways to gain muscle that any fitness enthusiast is likely already aware of.  If you’ve done your research, you know that there are certain foods that help the process of building muscle mass. But what is often considered the quickest shortcut is leaning on supplements and artificially-induced nutrients to build that muscle mass quickly.

What we don’t talk about often enough are the ways to gain muscle in a natural fashion that doesn’t tamper with our body through supplements or artificial ingredients. These are healthy ways to gain muscle that simply involve a modification in diet and lifestyle. Here are a few of those healthy ways to gain muscle that you can start doing as soon as possible

1.  Add lots of natural protein into your diet

Think of things like lean meat, chicken, eggs, fish, legumes and low-fat dairy foods, or snacks like yoghurt, muesli, nuts, seeds, quinoa, and protein bars.

2.  Eat small meals

Instead of eating three big meals, eat about six small ones throughout the day instead. Think of it as a way of gassing up the tank at regular intervals to make sure you have enough fuel for muscle repair.

3.  Converting fat into muscle

Start the process from a lean state. Trying to convert fat into muscle is not as effective as getting lean and then building solid muscle bulk.

4.  Start to eat more calories

Add more calories to your diet but do it in a progressive fashion. That way, you keep converting it to muscle as you increase the intensity of your workouts and the weights that you are lifting.

5.  Eat Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates are pure bulking fuel, and in an effort to eat more protein to build muscle, don’t forget to eat enough carbs to give you enough energy for those hardcore workouts–as well as to give your muscles the right recovery.

6.  Follow different workouts

Train frequently, and do it with enough variety that your muscles do not get used to a particular kind of workout (and stop responding to it).

7.  Get sleep

And lastly, get enough sleep. You are not going to get the body you want if it’s too fatigued to work hard and get it…
