There has been a never ending debate raging over whether women can have it all or if they need to sacrifice one element of their life in order to be achieve success in another since the 90’s. Balancing work, families and the myriad of roles that every woman essays in her life, the Super Wives have all carved out a niche for themselves in their respective field and shown the world that they can hold their own.Q. Tell us a little bit about how you got involved with health food, and what drew you to creating your own recipes.

I have always loved to cook. Honestly, it was many years ago that I found myself cooking some experimental recipes and trying to come up with healthier dishes, that is when I started exploring my interest. I took various courses to learn different forms of cooking and took an interest in exploring the food scene wherever I travelled. The main factor that motivated me to start cooking was to create more nutritious meals for the kids. When I realized that people appreciated the food I was creating, it occurred to me that it would be nice to have a space where I could share my recipes with likeminded people.  Q. Did you feel like a food blog was the natural progression ?

I did love to cook, but the idea for the food blog interested me because I wanted to promote low-carb, Keto recipes. I started following the lifestyle and realized that I want people to see my recipes and wanted to provide alternatives to the usual carb-heavy recipes in circulation. I try to follow it around 75% of the time and it has improved my health significantly. I have noticed that my parameters stay under check, my immune system has improved and I am much more energetic now. I think it is very beneficial.

Q. When did you decide to start creating your own food products and turn this passion into a business ?

The healthy chocolates and the bakery products were a product of a lot of experiments with food and the Keto lifestyle. Once, while baking, I created the perfect bread based on my friend’s recipe. I realized the potential for that and how big it could be given how Keto has taken off so I started approaching supermarkets to discuss the possibilities and that is how the business started. Initially I was doing all the cooking and I was involved in every aspect of the business, now I have employees whom I delegate to and I supply in larger quantities. It is still quite small though because I have to look after my family as well.Q. Women you find inspirational.

The women I find inspirational are good at multitasking, who make time for the important things. I also find people from the culinary arts very inspirational. I would love to be a pastry chef, so I find Nigella Lawson inspirational for what she does and there is someone who works in my husband’s business who makes amazing cakes, I find her very impressive.

Q. How would you describe your parenting style ?

I don’t think I follow a particular parenting style. I just want my children to feel comfortable talking to me about everything. I don’t want to be a best friend but I do want honest communication with them. That is important for me.
